This 2005 Disney film directed by Andrew Adamson is set during the London Blitz, when children were evacuated from the city to the countryside as a measure to keep them safe. This section from the movie accurately depicts the fear, anxiety and dangers that families had to face each night for 57 consecutive days. One can observe the attire, conditions and shelters used during the LB, as well as the psychological torture of having family (brothers, fathers) fighting during the war.
Another film by Disney, Peter Pan 2 (2002) directed by Robin Budd, features the hard break up of families during to war, and the often uncertainty of their return. Not only were husbands and fathers leaving, but kids had to separate from their mothers too, often leaving them alone. The second clip portrays another of the long nights of The Blitz and how parents often had to deceptively tell their smallest children what was happening, even though they were subconsciously aware of the danger. The shelter scene also serves as a reminder of the scarcity of supplies (mismatched socks as birthday gift wrapped in what seems like cardboard paper).
